Cassandra Wilkinson is an Australian author and president and co-founder of FBi Radio.[1] She is married to Australian politician Paul McLeay. She was the transport advisor to former New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally.
Wilkinson is the author of Don't Panic - Nearly Everything is Better Than You Think published by Pluto Press in 2007.[2][3][4] Her speech at the 2008 Battle of Ideas on internet censorship has been downloaded several thousand times and carries a five star You Tube rating. She has presented at the Sydney Writers' Festival and the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.[5] She has written on Happiness Economics in Happiness [Spinney Press 2008] and is currently an opinion contributor to The Australian newspaper and occasional commentator for Sky.
Wilkinson was a senior public servant and former senior political advisor to the New South Wales Treasurer and other Labor Ministers.[1][6]
Wilkinson was a freight expert holding the position of Director, Rail and Freight Policy in the New South Wales Ministry of Transport.[7][8] She was made redundant from this position in January 2009, following the New South Wales government decision to axe executive positions.[9] She was a Director in the Economics practice of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu before returning to work in government until the defeat of the Labor government in March 2011. She currently works for Social Finance Pty Ltd.
In addition to being a founder and President of FBi FM she is a Director of Music NSW and former Vice President of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and Director of Sydney City Farm.
